There isn't a motor build that matches the quality, fit, finish, standard features, load carrying capacity and speed of the HD Sport. Its flat drive technology out-runs and out-hauls all other brands. We have attended many public rides, poker runs and other events and without a doubt, nothing matches the quality, price and performance of this high end motor.
Quick Release Travel Lock allows you to tilt the motor
up into its locked position. The motor will not move up or down or side to side
when locked. To release, pull the spring loaded lock assembly.

Electric Neutral or Auto Shift Transmission are some of the hot new features on the HD Sport model. The Gas-N-Go ™ Auto Transmission option allows you to simply touch the throttle to move forward. When you release the throttle the propeller stops. Great for picking up decoys, loading on the trailer and around the dock. Simple to operate and a joy to drive.

this is it. Our frame and outdrive is computer designed and harmonically
balanced to start with. We utilized stress and harmonics analysis software when
designing any Mud Buddy product. Then for added benefit, we isolate the entire
drive and engine from the boat with polyurethane vibration isolators at the
swivel mount. We contracted with one of the nation's largest auto suspension
companies to design the frame isolation system.

Handle Tip Control Box. You asked for it. This prototype shows where the thumb control electric tilt and trim, handwarmer, electric switch for clutch, and safety switch will be located. (auto trans box shown) The squeeze grip throttle will be standard equipment on all Sport Models. Around mid-summer the control box will take on a more contoured look. We hired a local firm that builds flight simulators to design the new control box.

The Hyper Sport exhibits a new standard of quality, fit and finish. Its high end components are reflected throughout the frame. The Sport is the only short tail with a marine powder coat finish, plus rich zinc undercoat. Done in four stages with etching, you will not find better quality in any marine product. We run our motors on the Great Salt Lake which is four times saltier than the ocean and our requirements are very simple - durable and tough.

Notice how low the motor is to the transom. You will like the
profile, look and feel. Our outboard style stainless clamp mounts, with lockable
handles and transom saver cups are first class. The Sport also comes standard
with a remote steering capability. Its outboard style easy steering also makes
the Sport a dream to drive. You owe it to yourself - drive all the others and

The Sport's all new drive includes a tougher, stouter and shorter drive tube. One and five eights diameter and three-sixteenth thick - we call it our cannon barrel. We like the performance of our balanced Hyper 3' drive when stuck in mud, and were challenged to design its equal in a shorter length. We accomplished this by designing two new extended drive castings. This puts the drive flatter on the surface of the water, reduces drive angle and increases drive performance. We also changed the mount configuration, which allows the shorter drive and prop to dig deeper in mud for better traction.

The Sport's 27" drive is available for high and low transoms.
We also moved the engine swivel 8" closer to the drive housing, effectively
reducing the drive length by 17". These changes are reflected in the Sport's
easy handling, maneuverability and quick steering response.

The Sport's drive tube is 3/16" thick hardened steel.
The new Tiger prop, 1" stainless drive shaft, new sleek skeg design, and new
totally weedless outdrive launch the Sport well into the future. The Mud Buddy
drive is the toughest in the industry and well known for simple maintenance. We
ask you to check and grease the Sport's drive after three years or 300 hours.
Our hardened steel skeg is a quarter inch thick and bad to the bone. We use
aluminum on many parts of our frame, but it would take a half-inch thick section
of aircraft grade aluminum to match the toughness of our steel skeg. Many of our
customers run through rocks and logs and require this level of drive protection.

The Mud Buddy Fastgrass Blind is the most popular and
most duplicated blind ever built. More boats have this blind than any other. We
introduced it 8 years ago and now find it beneficial to equip all our boats with
Mud Buddy Fastgrass blind mounting.

This year we took installation of the blind one step further,
by eliminating its two transom mounts. Well, not really. We actually
incorporated the blind tube mounts into the motor mount. How practical, rock
solid, and so convenient. So when you clamp on your new Sport, your boat is
blind-ready.

The Tiger Propeller is legendary. It is extremely
quick and handles a load well. We have tested every blade out there and found
nothing touches the Tiger's performance. Many are using the cleaver style blade
and we are very familiar with its performance. One of our prop manufacturers
built us a number of them the past few years, and as good as they are, we struck
off and built our own design. This Tiger is smoother, runs faster, and carries a
load well. We like it. However, it needed a few improvements. Read on.

This year we are going to thicken the blades, add more cup, and
hardened them to Rockwell 41, the hardest in the industry. For the Sport, we
changed the mounting to a new slip-on mounting system which allows you to easily
change out the blade. We will also offer the new blade in the traditional
screw-on version as replacements for previous Hypers models.

The Sport Heavy Duty Power Tilt and Trim is standard on all Hyper models this year. We had many choices when designing our trim control. We were challenged with actuators last year, but never gave up. We had a vision for quality and thought the convenience and responsiveness of a high-end power tilt and trim was essential. The hard work and perseverance paid off. This all new trim unit, with a cast aluminum body and hardened 1.25" piston is responsive and very easy to use. Just tap the tilt and trim button located near your thumb on the handgrip. The trim also has a built-in brake which locks the trim instantaneously when you release the trim switch.

Easy to use. You quickly trim the prop for four-wheel-drive, or
fine tune the drive for the absolute best top end speed your engine can deliver.
You don't have to use it often, but when it is needed, you have instantaneous
adjustment with little effort. When you hit a stump or rock, the lower actuator
mount allows the drive to quickly raise. The trim actuator slides up on impact,
and then gently drops down on the rubber mount for dream like performance. It
does not get any better than this. Simple, easy to use, convenient, so
effective and standard equipment on all Hyper and Sport models.
